pollstar.com has released several dates for a mini 2002 TransAtlantic tour. However, this may be wrong. The first date which is dated Feb 19th in Boston is the same date that Dream Theater will be in Barcelona, Spain. I suggest you keep a close watch on DT.net for more information.

We have some good news! We have permission to be the first to preview Kaipa's (Roine Stolt's other band) first CD in like 20 years, "Notes From The Past", during a bandchat with him on: Sat., Feb. 23rd, 3pm EST (8pm GMT). The Kaipa release date is March 25th. We hope you'll join us and welcome Roine. There is rarely an opportunity to talk with him, and I've heard this new album is AMAZING, so mark you calendar! You will find connecting info on our website:

Happy New Year! Some some news for ya:

TransAtlantic is still working on the DVD. However Neal Morse seems to have his priorities on the Spock's Beard DVD and the new album.

You can read some reviews from Guitar World here.

And I'm planning on starting a bootleg FTP server. Probably a 1 to 1 ratio on a friend's server. TransAtlantic and Dream Theater boots will be available all in 192 over higher mp3 bitrates. The more you submit the more you can download. I'll have more info later on.

The title track to Dream Theater's New album "Six Degrees Of Innerturbulence" happens to have buckets loaded of TransAtlantic influence.

12/02/01
Sorry about the downtime, server had to be moved.

TransAtlantic plans on releasing one of the Europe shows on DVD(probably even VHS and CD).

11/21/01
From all the reviews that I've read...the TransAtlantic tour is doing great. I compiled a few quotes and reviews that I've read and put them here.

11/23/01
If you're a small fan of Elton John you may have noticed that in EJ's "I Guess Thats Why They Call It The Blues", about the 1:10 minute mark and TransAtlantic's "Suite Charlotte Pike" about the 11:24 mark, you'll notice quite a simularity between the two. Pretty cool huh?

11/18/01
I've got some stuff for ya. Check out the lyrics page. You'll find all the lyrics for BAF. I transcribed them myself. I'll have the bonus disc up soon.

For those of you that have been asking, NO it is not Prince (As in the Artist Formerly known as...), who co-wrote Bridge Across Forever with Morse.

While transcribing, I noticed a major theme in all the songs on BAF. When I get some time, I'll look at a constant theme and maybe write a small story based on he lyrics.

11/02/01
It's been a long time since I updated this page. BAF came out early Oct. and is awesome. I'll be adding Lyrics, and other stuff to the site soon.

TransAtlantic will be touring in Europe only to support Brdige Across Forever. However their schedule will be pretty tight compared to their last. They will be playing 10 shows in 11 days with one day off. See the 2001 Tour here.

The new TransAtlantic "Bridge Across Forever" Limited Edtion Tracklisting, Artowrk, and Release date has been set and you can find it on the official site, or you can stay at this site and click here. It turns out that it will be released the day after my birthday.

Finally TransAtlantic Winds has some competition. Site Latino TransAtlantic is a Spanish/(? I'm not very good with other languages) TransAtlantic site that was designed very well and has lots of Flash Animations. It's a great site and I hope you visit all four of the TransAtlantic sites websites(here).

7/18/01
I hope you go to the Official TransAtlantic website often. Mark Redesigned the whole thing and it looks great.

The best part of the new redesigned site it that if you scroll all the way down to where it says links you can see this very site in a captured image:

Well I guess thats my 15 minutes of fame.

As expected, the cover song that TransAtlantic recorded on January 15th, 2001 (see our exclusive Studio Diary) is Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond". The band didn't want to announce the name of the cover at the time, because they wanted to keep it a surprise for their performance at NAMM (a major dealer trade event) in Anaheim, CA, on January 20th, 2001.

According to Mike Portnoy it was specifically recorded as an extra track, which will most likely not be on the regular release, but will instead be used for another limited edition 2CD set.

The original version by Pink Floyd consists of nine parts. Five of them are located at the beginning of the "Wish You Were Here" album, and the remaining four parts are located at the end.

TransAtlantic has rearranged the song by combining all parts and reducing the total time from 25 minutes to approximately 15 minutes. They also tried to make it sound more like a TransAtlantic song, with a lot of jamming in the instrumental sections. According to Mike Portnoy, it came out awesome.

I received the TA Live cd yesterday. It's awesome. This show was orignally recorded as a one shot video for a cybercast...which sucked. But the sound quality is pretty. Especially Roines guitar which was not hooked up to his own equipment. He used Mike's wife's 10" amp. Overall the show sounded better than the Video looked. The video was not in sync(no pun intended) with the music. Mike would hit his drums after you heard the sounds.

3/04/01
TransAtlantic's Live Album is due out March 12th. You can pre-order it from Raidiant Records.

I also now have a cdrw and will start to TRADE TA boots.

1/31/01
I got my TA video two days ago. Kinda early. Anyway I suggest that you get this asap. It's great. This should tide me over til the next album.

1/26/01
I hope you all bought the TA video from Radiant Records (I know I did!). Neal Morse posted a message on the Thoughts disscussion list that the TA vids had been sent out.

1/02/01
The full TA show at Middle East in Cambridge, MA on June 20 is now available at Lines In The Sand.
Also, I plan to have a new feature up in about two weeks.

The Prog Guild

Well another project that I've been working on has finally been fin....uhhh, well it's almost complete. But 1/2 of it works. It's a Progressive Community that indexes all the best fansites. There is also a message board for everyone and I plan to start a small 88x31 button exchange. Well, I know you're wondering about it, so click here.

Mark Bredius has done it again. He re-designed the Radiant Records website. He;s done a great job on this site and many others. Also, Radiant Records is having a blowout sale on many items, and if you buy 3 items you get a signed Glossy Photo of Spock's Beard or TransAtlantic (depending on the items you order).

I purchased a TA shirt, mouse pad, Nick 'n Neal cd, and Don't Try This At Home cd. With it came the signed Glossy Photo of TransAtlantic with Neal's signature on it. I'd love to show it to you but my damn scanner is broken.

And Last but not least TranaAtlantic Winds has already generated over 2000 page views less than two months.

11/22/00
TransAtlantic will be performing with Mike's new signature snare drums at the NAMM on Sat, Jan. 20th 2001 in Anaheim, CA. If anyone is attending this show, and can record the show please contact me.
