Alienware DV2001

In 2002, I needed a new computer. I have about $4000+ to blow. I'm heavily into digital video so I knew that whatever I got had to do that. I first looked at apple and realized that the cost of the software would be too much. I looked at Alienware and realized that this company would be able to build what I needed. This mammoth includes 5.1 audio and a Pinnacle PRO-One Editing system.

Jazz

The story of Jazz goes back to March 2003. When I knew that taking the Alienware to college would be a problem, and just too heavy. I looked though pricewatch.com and was able to build a very good computer for $1200. I built the machine in about 5 hours including a 2 hour nap inbetween. I ran into some video troubles during the first windows installation, but was soon fixed. I called it "Jazz" because of it being very quiet du to the Antec Sonata Queit PC series. Containing only 3 fans, one on the cpu, one in the back, and one on the hard drives. This box has about 24 decibles of noise, making it quieter than the average whisper.

I also switched from Intel to AMD, for price, speed and just being overall better.

Monorail PC99:

This was the first real computer I had. We've had others, but they sucked. I used this computer for about 4 years before the Alienware came about. I love and hate this computer. But this is the machine where I learned everything I know about computers.
